A note from Opie’s foster mom:
Opie has been an absolute delight to foster. He is such a sweet, gentle soul. I was nervous about bringing in a deaf dog at first, but it’s honestly a non-issue. We use hand signals to communicate (like I would with any other dog!), and I just flicker the lights or tap him on the shoulder when I need him to pay attention. We are working on reinforcing door manners and leash behavior that he learned while he boarded for a week with our trainer. He definitely knows the rules, just needs someone to lovingly and consistently remind him (like we all do!). He is perfectly crate trained, and will sleep in there overnight, although he is a supreme cuddler and often sleeps with me. I have never once seen him get aggro. The closest he’s gotten is a really cute rumble he’ll give me when I’m dilly-dallying before our walks. Opie has so much love to give and would be a fantastic companion to a single person, or a family. He’s great with children and other animals, and would seamlessly fit into almost any family dynamic. I’m sending Opie with a top of the line e-collar and two training sessions with our trainer for his new family so they can communicate even more effectively. Honestly he is just such a good dog, and I know the perfect family is out there waiting to meet him.

Miller is a distinguished gent. Tall, dark and handsome with bedroom eyes for days.....
Approximately 3-5 years old, heartworm negative and up to date on vaccines.
We don't have any information on from before he landed at a Shreveport-area shelter, but we sprung him anyway since all the shelter people fell in love with him. He is currently in boarding outside of Shreveport where he spends the days frolicking with his best friend Weezer pictured below. Weezer also needs a loving foster and/or adopter.

Kevin is less than a year old and had a rough start. He was surrendered to the Shreveport-area shelter, with an injury to his leg. Unfortunately, radiographs indicated a bullet lodged in his leg, and his front leg had to be amputated. Just don't tell him.
Kevin is goofy AF and wants to be your pal. He's soft like butter with a coat of pewter. He's friendly, playful and so affectionate. He's dog selective so will benefit from slow, supervised introductions in neutral spaces.
Like most dogs, he'll need time to decompress and adjust to a new setting. He is one of our 2 tri-pawed dogs we have - both have been so resilient!
CHARACTERISTICS: Friendly, Funny, Playful, Affectionate
COAT LENGTH: Short and soft
HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes

Weezer is approximately 2 years old and was surrendered to the shelter because she wasn't cute anymore. Needless to say, we beg to differ and think that Weezer is a catch. She is a spry 45lbs, with legs for days.
She was fostered with a family that loved her but the family dog was not a fan, so now she is in boarding in the Shreveport area. She spends her days frolicking with Miller pictured above, who also needs a foster or adopter.
